Research Interests:

Computational Functional Anatomy (CFA) is a new discipline in the medical image analysis that mathematically models the anatomy and functions of organs using multi-modality images. It aims at studying both anatomical and functional information in the structures of anatomical coordinates for identifying image biomarkers associated with diseases. It includes the following five areas:

1)       Construction of anatomical manifolds, such as points, curves, surfaces, subvolumes (image segmentation, feature extraction);

2)       Construction of anatomical association (registration);

3)       Extraction of morphometric and functional measurements (modeling);

4)       Signal processing in anatomical manifolds (signal modeling, signal processing);

5)       Statistical inference on anatomy and functions in the anatomical cooridinates (random fields, pattern recognition).
