Escherichia coli (E. coli) with Pili and Flagella

An Escherichia coli cell is imaged using tapping mode AFM
under dry condition. Well preserved pili and flagella structures can be seen clearly.



Ant-microbial action of sushi S3 peptides on gram negative bacteria
         
Untreated E. Coli and P. aeruginosa
Indentations and outer membrane debris found on and around bacteria treated with low concentration peptide
   
Small amount of leakage of periplasmic fluid found at the apical end of bacteria treated with lower concentration of peptide
Severely damaged bacteria with cell debris as well as large amount of exuded cytoplasmic fluid from bacteria treated with S3 peptide
