The research in µTE lab focuses on engineering multi-scale human tissue models for controlling and understanding cellular interactions in human diseases and drug responses. Our approach is to interface tissue engineering with microtechnologies, such as microfluidics and microarrays, to incorporate biological complexity into quantitative screening platforms. Through this effort, we expect to capture more complex multicellular phenotypes and interactions to bridge between simplistic single cell-based assays and animal studies.
