Candidate will be working in a highly dynamic startup environment, innovating for solutions to solve real-life needs of the dialysis industry. In this position, the main project will be on developing a new medical dressing kit to improve the quality of life and quality of care of patients. Candidate will be primarily responsible for the design, prototyping, in vitro and in vivo testing of the product concepts. Strong background in medical technology, biomedical engineering and testing is required. Due to the nature of a startup environment, Candidate will be exposed to other functions such as regulatory, intellectual properties, quality system, manufacturing, business development and more – there are always new things to learn!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a medical dressing kit to improve the lives of dialysis patients
  • Planning and executing in vitro and in vivo experiments for safety and efficacy studies
  • Designing and planning verification and validation experiments with regulatory considerations

Requirement

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a good standing from Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the biomedical devices industry in product development
  • Experience in Design History File and Design Control is desired
  • Relevant experience in the product development of medical dressings or similar products is an advantage

The center combines latest technologies and state-of-art instruments to develop new method for quality control, food safety, and detection of adulteration. Our analytical and quality control team at WIL@NUS is looking for an enthusiastic assistant research officer. The successful candidate will be working on a variety of analytical techniques including GC-MS, LC-MS, Raman Spectroscopy, FT-NIR, HPLC, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-up qualitative and quantitative LC-MS methods for protein identification and analyze metabolites in biological samples
  • Be responsible for the LC-MS and other analytical instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ensure thorough keeping of records for protocols and analyses, and chemical inventory

Requirement

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry

Candidate will be responsible for managing the medical equipment in the Hospital. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, promoting proper usage and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Candidate will carry out acceptance testing of new equipment, investigate equipment-related incidents and manage service contracts. Candidate will also develop tender specifications for equipment, as well as participate in evaluation and recommendation for purchase of new equipment.

With focus on the mechanobiology of immune cells, interdisciplinary projects will range from basic mechanistic research to applications that are translatable. Requirement

(i)

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or in a related field
  • PhDs in bioengineering or engineering with either > 1 year postdoctoral experience, or thesis in a bio-heavy lab can also be considered
  • Experience using transfection technologies, PCR methods, fluorescence activated cell sorting, or microfluidic chips will be an asset for consideration
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English, evolving and adaptable scientific creativity, have ample knowledge in statistics, and thrive within a multidisciplinary team-based research environment

(ii)

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biomaterials, Engineering, Quantitative Biology, or in a related field
